Spanish Creek/Falls Creek on May 11, 2003

To get to this particular National Forest Trailhead, you have to drive through Ted Turner's Flying D ranch, where he raises bison. Mind you, he's not real happy about having to allow access to the National Forest, so he doesn't bother to fence in his bison. Consequently, the beautiful 10 mile drive takes about half an hour, most of which you're stuck waiting for nursing bison to decide that dinner time is over. And more than one of them turned around and looked like she was about to charge my vehicle. I'm poaching next time. ;-)
Elizabeth and the Spanish Peaks
Elizabeth, some apsen, and the marginally distinguishable Spanish Peaks
The Spanish Peaks. Gosh I wish it had been a clear day.
Falls Creek Falls. Yeah, they ran out of names.
Same thing, but in portrait. BTW, that snow is about 2 to 4 feet deep.
Same thing but a bit closer.
Falls Creek just above the Falls. Notice the ice below the log in the bottom right. Don't worry, there's a hand rail at the top. ;-)
Check out these aspen. They're growing out of the middle of a rock slide. Well, I found it impressive.
